I am a self-employed massage therapist. Missed appointments have a direct impact on my ability to earn my living, attend to other responsibilities, and may deny someone else from having an appointment slot who may be in pain or in need. Thank you for understanding my policies.

24 Hours

I require 24 hours’ notice for all cancellations and changes to the length of your scheduled appointment, and I enforce this strictly in summer season. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to payment in full.  Upon arriving for your appointment, if you decide you would like a longer appointment than scheduled, I will try to accommodate if my schedule permits. If you decide you need to cut your appointment shorter than we have scheduled, that is fine, but I still have to charge the full appointment fee for the scheduled time if I do not have 24 hours’ notice for the changes. Thank you for understanding.

Cold, Flu, Infection

I have the flu. Should I come in?

No! No. No. No. No. No. No.
Please, stay home and rest, drink plenty of fluids and get better. Please do not expose your massage therapist to your illness! I will not work with anyone with a cold or flu. Ever. No exceptions.
Please think of it this way, would you want your massage therapist working on you if s/he had the flu?

If you have an appointment scheduled and are not feeling well, please call me to let me know you are cancelling. If you find yourself getting sick, or have been sick in the last week, or have any infection; or if you are exposed to a family member, co-worker, housemate, or friend who has a cold or a flu, please do not keep your appointment. I will never, ever, ever charge someone for a missed appointment if they are sick, even if they call at the last minute. Please, just call me and let me know. Thank you for understanding.

Disaster / Emergency

If you have had something urgent come up, please call me as soon as possible to discuss your situation, I am very compassionate.

Please plan ahead for times when the traffic is at it’s peak, for when the bridge is up or other considerations relative to a busy resort / vacation island in summer. In winter, if you are stuck off island in a blizzard and our trusty boats are not running, please call me. I will not charge.

If you are baking in the sun on the beach sipping an organic wheatgrass smoothie and just don’t feel like leaving and driving to your appointment, I may charge double 🙂

Alcohol and Substances

Please do not use alcohol, marijuana, or any recreational substances before your massage.  Also, please consider avoiding use after your massage as well- enjoy the transportive, clear, beautiful space that the massage puts you in! I reserve the right to refuse massage to anyone who is under the influence of alcohol or recreational substances prior to their session. Please let me know if you are taking any prescribed pain medication.
